  Transform the Building | Transform the City
  

  In 1924, the cornerstone was laid for Ku Klux Klan Klavern No 101’s Auditorium on Main Street in Fort Worth. The building has changed ownership over the years and will now be transformed from a place of hate to a place that offers different programs and activities with an emphasis on educational components that feature the history of the building and race relations in the region, and include the story of Mr. Fred Rouse. These programs aim to help us to interpret North Texas history, stimulate dialogue, share opportunities for community involvement and positive action, and promote justice and human rights.
  

  Transform 1012, a Texas-based, non-profit coalition of local arts, grassroots, and service organizations and groups, was founded by eight local community groups bringing together leaders in the arts, social justice programming, and building design to catalyze transformational civic engagement and community partnerships. Transform 1012 is a movement of reparative justice and memorial activism.

  The organization represents groups of people in Fort Worth who were targeted by the Ku Klux Klan in the 1920’s, specifically Black, Catholic, Hispanic, Immigrant, Jewish, and LGBTQQ2SPIAA+ populations.

  Together, we will transform a monument to hate into a beacon of truth-telling, reconciliation, and liberation for the nation.

  Their services are FREE and are available to all eligible Tarrant County residents. They also provide services to employers to help them find well trained and qualified individuals for their organization.

  Judy McDonald, Executive Director

  Judy McDonald is a native Texan, whose career in workforce development has spanned over 3 decades.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in Arlington.  Judy is a Past-President of the Texas Association of Workforce Boards and a Past-President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors Workforce Development Council. Judy is recognized for her leadership, innovation, and collaboration.  She has been the recipient of numerous accolades and awards at the state and national level.  In 2020, she was named one of the 400 most influential people in Ft. Worth. Judy credits her talented team that has stayed together to serve hundreds of employers and thousands of people over the years.
